Brian Sergio was born on August 10 1980 in Manila, Philippines and studied Painting, In University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts. during his college years, he became interested in snap shooting photographs specifically women and cats with compact cameras. He is currently working as an Art Director in a small creative agency based in Manila.
His work has always been evaluated by viewers as transgressive. The identities that linger in our time that is supposed to constrain but, with the consideration of its prevalence, goes on with little struggle; instead continuing with submission. His images perceived as stress situations by the norm then becomes a way to draw out energies through the viewer’s engagement with it.
Because of The Philippines claimed to be a Catholic country, Sergio has been branded as one of the most infamous artists in Manila, because of his photographs.
He held a few exhibitions and currently publishing his zines independently to showcase his photographs.
